Navarathri  means nine nights and the tenth day is celebrated as  Dasara which is called as the Naada Habba , the state festival of Karnataka .It is celebrated in great pomp and show . The demon called Mahisha won over Indra,the lord of deva loka and the prithvi loka. Lord Indra went to Lord Brahma , Vishnu and Maheshwara ton seek help and to save them from the demon Mahishasura. The Trimurthi’s together  who created the divine supreme power the shakti goddess Durga who killed the demon Mahishasura. The victory of good over evil is celebrated as Dasara. Mysore Dasara is famous all around the world. The goddess Chamundi is taken in procession and devotees take the blessings
