Makara Sankranthi Celebration

Makara Sankrati, an Indian festival of harvest, is one of the few rare occasions that is celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar. It is one of the oldest festivals in the world that happens on an equinox. On an equinox, the time length of day and night remains equally long. The equinox marks the end of winters in India and welcomes the beginning of spring, the season of harvest. After Makar Sankranti, the days grow longer and the nights shorter till the next equinox. On this occasion,Makara Sankranthi was celebrated in JGRVK.
